About the Principals

Right from the beginning the school was headed by eminent educationists of India and other countries. Currently the reins of Vikas Vidyalaya are in the hands of a very dynamic Principal Mr. P. S. Kalra who has an excellent vision to take the school to the greater heights. With a rich background of his Educational Qualifications and experience he is sure to march ahead taking along the school students and faculty to broader perspectives of life. He is both, compassionate and strict. He counsels the students with great patience according to the need of the hour.

Infrastructure and Facilities

Vikas Vidyalaya is a home away from home with adequately furnished rooms for students to make the stay of the girls and boys comfortable. The infrastructure of our school was designed by American engineers; it signifies royalty, dignity and strength. The school building is uniformly divided into three major blocks consisting of laboratories, digital classes, lecture theatres, a library and more. There are separate hostels for girls and boys where there are Hostel Superintendents and House Masters/Mistress to look after the students and their needs 24/7.

Residential Facilities

Our hostels are constructed in such a manner that 2 – 3 students share a room with ample washrooms having hot and cold running water. Each hostel is under the personal care and supervision of a Hostel Superintendent who looks into every small need of a student including clothing, health, hygiene, cleanliness, laundry etc. Filtered drinking water is available in the hostels. Recreation rooms with T.V. and indoor games are provided in each hostel.

Faculty & Academics

The school has a team of highly qualified and experienced educators to motivate the young minds through interactive approach and group discussions. The endeavour on the part of the school is to inculcate social awareness and values through the CBSE curriculum. Stress is laid on developing social and behavioral attitudes of the children. In short, the school aims at personality development of students through quality education, creative thinking, time management, conflict resolution, positive thinking and communicative skills.

Beyond Academics

At Vikas Vidyalaya, education goes beyond academics and spills over to games fields, a series of Co-curricular activities making education holistic in the real sense. We train our students in various sports and games like Rifle Shooting, Basketball, Football, Martial arts, Volleyball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Badminton, Tennis, and Lawn Tennis throughout the year. The school actively competes at all levels e.g. Inter-House, Inter-school, State level and National levels. Students are given intensive training in various sports by well-qualified coaches/staff. The school has a policy to give away awards in Sports to the students who bring laurels to the Country/State/District/Zonal/Inter-School tournaments in all major games and sports.

Our students are given exposure to appreciate various forms of instrumental, and vocal music, and dances. In addition to this, our students participate in a series of inter-house and inter-school literary activities. We do celebrate all festivals of national and religious importance in the school.
